Prius Evangelist Walks the Talk

My 2004 is my second Prius. After I put 38,000 miles on my 2001 and ordered the 2004, our son in Dallas (who called me a tree-hugger when I bought the 2001) asked if he could buy the 2001 for whatever the trade-in would be.
Well, he was driving a large SUV for business and pleasure. He had the 2001 for exactly three weeks when he asked if I could get him another one. I found a 2003 that was loaded with GPS and everything in Grapevine, TX. Our son bought it and replaced his other SUV. He now has two Prius hybrids and is going to order a 2005.
I have taken my Prius to local car shows and been stopped numerous times. The result is that I have directly sold at least nine and sold at least 11 others indirectly. I'm a Prius evangelist!
A People-Friendly Car

There are many obvious reasons why I bought my Prius: environmentally friendly, high gas mileage, value and that it's just a cool car. However, I never knew how many people I would meet! I have been stopped in gas stations, parking lots and in traffic. I told my daughter that if Toyota gave me a quarter for every time someone has asked about the car, I would be very happy. She responded that she didn't think Toyota needed my help to sell the Prius. Anyway, it is the best car I have owned for so many reasons, especially all the friendly people I have met!
Prius -- "It's a Way of Life"

When I purchased the Prius in November 2003, I was a typical urban/suburban driver rushing from here to there in the craze of our society today, chewing up the gas and never giving it a second thought. The Prius was one way to put off whatever small token of guilt I may have been aware of, but to my surprise an even bigger impact was in store for my driving psyche.
As the Prius taught me how to maximize the mileage by monitoring the consumption screen, I gradually became aware of a sense of calm associated with the NEW way of getting from here to there. In addition to developing a sense of how well-designed the Prius is, I actually found myself in a very relaxed state of mind while going back and forth to work, especially when passed by a careening, frenetic SUV. This serenity when driving has allowed me to enjoy music while driving with a much better sense of enjoyment, and my family has commented how at-ease I seem to have become since I purchased the Prius!! The Prius -- IT'S A WAY OF LIFE!!
No Compromises

I love everything about my Prius. I thought I would be making compromises by buying a hybrid. I thought wrong. Not only am I getting 50+ miles per gallon on average now, but I'm enjoying the cool and advanced technology (Bluetooth®, Smart Key System), the handling, and even the acceleration! Plus I catch everyone's attention and interest. Despite my initial hesitations, I have fallen in love with this car, and I could not imagine it being much better.
